Football Fever

Since the MLS came to Toronto, there’s been a distinct air of soccer fever in town, especially in areas surrounding BMO field in the Exhibition grounds. Here we find evidence at 194 Dowling Ave, its tag-riddled plywood door-seal stenciled over with the friendly image of a footballer performing a textbook header. It’s an interesting look / distraction from the fact that this building is crumbling. And I still get the feeling I’ll prefer this look to whatever "restoration" might be in store, at least stylistically.
Battle for the Landing Pad

My entry for the MLS section of the Lego Military Build Contest. This doesn’t follow the 10 stud standard on the sides because it is a "middle segment" and a major map objective. It would sit on top of the technic extensions provided by 4 surrounding MLS elements, and would serve as a central goal of a Lego wargaming round. The idea was to have a landing pad for the teams to bring in supplies from, simple yet fun involving multiple game mechanics of elevated ground, moving between areas of cover, and limited supplies. I hope to work some more with the faction shown currently holding the landing pad, if I can ever get some money for a Bricklink order =P! The photo is a little too bleached, but it is a ton better than my normal quality which made me happy =D. (Sun light > artificial light it seems!)
